Fenix Romper (loads of pics with a few styling ideas!)

I signed up for a test! Meet the NEW Fenix Romper from the Cali Faye Collection (link at bottom of post)

So, I'm a 5'5" rectangle shaped lady and I ADORE this style and shape on my self.

I did the easy option for the straps and just used velvet ribbon for the straps - but thre is an otion for bra like straps with adjustments things.

I love how it can be styled wth the jean jacket for a bit dressier - I wore it styled with the striped long cardi for school pick up - casual but still cute! and I love the pockets and wearing it plain with the pocket option I find gives it such a perfectly draped shape on my body! I love this one more than the one I bought in store last summer.

and it is a romper - so totally practical too for chasing kidlets and windy days! (and cute with bralettes peeking out!)

Now, if my blog is quiet for a bit - please excuse me because I will be making a couple more of these in many different fabrics... This pattern works for woven fabric (with a nice drape) and for knit fabrics! You really can't go wrong....

LLK Monet pattern and an Easter freebie!

I did a pattern test!!! In winter months I usually just sign up to test for womens wear because I can handle forcing myself to pose outside for pics... but this was soooooooooo cute - and it is almost spring weather ... and it can be a top OR a dress as per the pattern... so I signed up to test somethign for the girls!

I am in love with the princess seams and the peplum top is only slightly gathered so it doesnt get too poofy when wearing! This is also a fairly quick sew - looks way more complex than it actually is.

For the back I did snaps as Cheek's hair gets all tangled around buttons.

I also happened to decide to start Easter sewing ... Cheek's new easter dress is sooo cute! and that bunny free motion applique - it is FREE! Check out the StitchART facebook group (linked below) and it is in the files section!

and in case you needed to smile today - Cheek's always has at least one pic that makes a person smile in a photo session!

Join the group to find the bunny (and other) free patterns for free motion applique!

Sis Boom Tommy Boxers - in KNIT! with a knit waistband!

Did you know Tommy boxers by SisBoom can be made in knit ??? Because they CAN!!!!! You can do as per pattern exactly... or you can do what I did and add a knit waistband. which is basically where you want it to sit on your waist and take off an inch or 2 times twice the width you want (I did 4 inches wide for a 2inch waistband finished). Just serge it (or use the lightening bolt stitch on your sewing machine) on by pinning at the quarter points and stretching  to fit and sewing! Easy peasy! and sooooooooo comfy!

PLUS the Tommy's are great for using panels with the solid one piece pattern back!

I paired the shorts with the FREE Blanc tee found in the blank slate sewing patterns group - I love how quick it sews and I used a fat half to make a size small :)

Perfectly comfy and cute jammie/lounge set! Done in under 2hrs!

The fabric is from True North Fabrics !! Preorder is open TODAY!

Sis Boom Angie - Hack-a-thon Tutorial and RoundUP!

The super fun SisBoom Angie hack-a-thon week is officially over ... sadly.
BUT I thought I'd do a final fare thee well and round up post with one more quick and very easy hack!

To lower the back neckline I put my front bodice piece on top of the back and traced the neckline to the back. You can use any of the 3 neckline heights or make up your own. I used the lowe neckline so I could get a nice open back for my mini dress - living where I do my skin needs the sun when it can get it!

To get my skirt this full I actually used WOF (width of fabric) times 2 ! I looove a nice full skirt on a mini dress length! Now I'm just waiting for the snow to melt!

Here are the other stops and hacks on the blog tour! So many fun ideas for you to try!
